Father Kills 4-Month Old Son for Ritual in Kogi state!

The police command in Kogi state have arrested a middle aged man, Mr Hosea Folorunsho in Egbe town of Yagba West local government council for the alleged gruesome murder of his son for ritual purpose.

Briefing journalists on the arrest in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Mohammed Katsina says the suspect, a herbalist, also buried the child in a shallow grave in his own compound.

There's a video of the report after the cut...but please be warned...the images are quite disturbing...

The state’s Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Katsina while parading the suspect, Chief Hosea Folorunsho, at the state command headquarters, Lokoja-the state capital, disclosed that on the 31st of December 2012, the herbalist killed his son for alleged ritual.

Narrating the police investigation, the police boss, Mr Katsina disclosed that on the New Year’s Eve, at about 11:55PM, the suspect quietly took the baby named Sunday Folorunsho who was asleep in the middle of the night and murdered him in gruesome circumstances.

He added that having accomplished his mission, the suspect dug a shallow grave in his compound and hurriedly buried the corpse of the baby.

The police escorted Mr Folorunsho to his compound where the baby’s corpse was buried and he was then asked to exhume the corpse.

Digging out the corpse of the baby, he handed over the body to a pathologist who conducted an autopsy on the dead baby.

The autopsy result read that the child died of multiple fractures through the application of blunt object and trauma.

The 48 year old suspect, a native of Egbe in Yagba West Local Government Area (LGA) of the state is married with three other kids.

Ba completes transfer to Chelsea

Demba Ba has completed his transfer to Chelsea for an undisclosed fee on a 3-1/2-year contract, the club’s website (www.chelseaafc.com) said on Friday.

The former Newcastle striker, who is the joint third highest Premier League goal scorer this season, will be eligible for Chelsea’s FA Cup tie at Southampton on Saturday the club said.

“It feels good to be here, I’m very happy and very proud,” the 27-year-old Senegalese forward said.

“When the club who won the Champions League wants you, the decision is very easy. This club is massive and that’s something that helped the decision a lot. It was not a hard one.”

Chelsea are currently fourth in the Premier League after losing at home to bottom club Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday.

Kevin-Prince Boateng on racist chanting: I'd walk off again!

Kevin-Prince Boateng says he would walk off the field again if subjected to racist abuse.
Boateng's AC Milan side walked out of a friendly after he was subjected to racist chants by fans of Italian lower division club Pro Patria.
In an interview with CNN,  Boateng, 25, said: "I don't care what game it is - a friendly, Italian league or Champions League match - I would walk off again."
Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi praised Boateng for his stand against racism.
Racist abuse should be reported to the match officials by the player and team captain. If the abuse does continue the officials should abandon the game.
Berlusconi, the former Italian prime minister, had earlier stated that Milan would take the same stance in any other game, including European matches.
He said in a statement: "I called Kevin-Prince Boateng a little while ago and congratulated him for his reaction against the disgraceful episode of racism that took place in Busto Arsizio.
"I am very happy with Milan's reaction and be assured that in all games where we experience episodes of this kind, Milan will leave the field."
Gordon Taylor, the chief executive of the Professional Footballers' Association, has warned players they could find themselves in trouble if they walk off before the referee decides to abandon a match.
"Racist abuse should be reported to the match officials by the player and team captain, and then the crowd warned," said Taylor. "If the abuse does continue then the officials should abandon the game.
"The warning will also be an opportunity for responsible fans to influence those who are perpetrating the abuse."
Fifa and Uefa, the world and European governing bodies of football, have previously warned against players walking off the field of play.
In Busto Arsizio, a 20-year-old unemployed man was reported to prosecutors for his alleged involvement in the racist chants that caused the friendly to be abandoned.
The man is said to have admitted to being part of a group of fans who directed abuse at the players.
Boateng, the German-born Ghana international who previously played for Portsmouth and Tottenham, has been widely praised for his action, which came in the 26th minute of the friendly.
He said he was grateful for the solidarity he received after leading the walk-off.
"I saw massive support from England and massive players like Rio Ferdinand and Patrick Vieira, and I want to say thank you. I'm sad and angry that I'm the one that has to take action." he said.
Boateng said he complained to the referee three times before he and his team-mates walked off the field.
I'm surprised we're still hearing these things in 2013. It's not the first time in my life I've had to hear things like this but I'm 25 and don't want to take this any more
Kevin-Prince Boateng
"I said to [the referee]: 'If it happens again I'm not going to play any more.' The referee said 'don't worry' but I said 'I do worry, it's not very nice'," he said.
"I was angry and I was sad, but it all came together and I said I didn't want to play any more.
"I'm surprised we're still hearing these things in 2013. It's not the first time in my life I've had to hear or see things like this but I'm 25 and don't want to take this any more."
His former team-mate Clarence Seedorf disagreed with Boateng's actions, however.
The former Netherlands international said: "Walking away? Yes, you send a signal. But this has happened more than once and I don't think it really changes all that much.
"We are just empowering that little group with their behaviour to make this mess."
Tony Higgins, the spokesman on anti-racism for Fifpro, the international footballers' union, said that the union "fully understands and supports the actions of Kevin-Prince Boateng and his team-mates".
He added: "The players of Milan sent a clear message: if racism does not stop, then football will.
"We have to draw a line. Kevin-Prince Boateng is also a human being. He is entitled to a working environment free of violence, racism and other forms of discrimination.
"Imagine yourself at work and someone standing right next to you is constantly insulting you in the worst way possible. Would you accept that?"

An Open Letter To Tonto Dikeh By Onyeka Nwelue

Dear Tonto Dikeh,

I know you feel beautiful this morning! Well, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. For me, you are nowhere near ‘beautiful’. You are just there. But before I tell you what I really want to tell you, I need to tell you something. There is a lady called Adele. She is a singer. She sings. I need to explain what a singer means, because I understand that you have no brain at all. Because I hate sugar-coating, I am hated by a lot of people. You are just like me too. I will understand when people hate you, but, seriously, if you think Igbo men are nosy, then, you are right. That is your opinion and you must protect it.

I am an Igbo man. I will defend myself right now. Back to Adele. I will tell you everything about this young lady who transformed herself into something very beautiful in the eyes of men. I also understand that you don’t know her, but it won’t hurt if I tell you about her now. This is what TIME magazine wrote about her few days ago: “As talented and appealing as she is, few could foresee how utterly dominant Adele would be in 2011: in an era where even the highest-tier musical acts can struggle to move records, her sophomore effort, 21, sold 17 million copies worldwide and spent 16 weeks at the top of the Billboard 200 chart, the longest for any record since 1998's Titanic sound track. Combined with sales of her previous album, 19, Adele has topped the U.K. charts for 21 weeks — a feat matched only by the bands Oasis and Queen.” Tonto nne m, Adele is 23. You are older. She is not worried about her future. You are. She is focused about her music.

You are worried that no Igbo man will marry you after you’ve created yourself into a bamboo stick. Truth is that I don’t know you personally, but you’ve created a strong mystery around yourself. People see you as a soul from hell. They say you’ve sold your soul to the devil. Me, I don’t know where the devil lives, but I think you have. You even went ahead to show us tattoos at your back. I just didn’t understand why you did that. As an Igbo man, I will never marry a woman who has shown the entire world ‘my tattoos.’ It is not good. I am an Igbo man, so I will
need to know who snapped the picture. Maybe, your secret boyfriend? This is the reason why we are bad, abi? Adele doesn’t go around seeking attention. She doesn’t pay anyone to publish pictures of her tattoos. Who knows? She may just have a lot of them. I haven’t seen them. I have seen yours.

There is nothing wrong in you tattooing your entire body, but what is my business with that? Are you not supposed to be an actress? Of course, I understand that you appear in pornographic films now? That is good. At least, you are doing what you know best. But to pick on Igbo men? This is very unacceptable. You insulted a lot of us. This simply shows how unintelligent you are towards anthropology. Men are the same all over the world. Igbo man, Yoruba man, Hausa man. We all treat women in similar ways. We love unconditionally. And we all become nosy when our women start acting like you. If your father is an Igbo man, dearest Tonto Dikeh, you are a monkey. But I will be sorry if you didn’t say that. I only rely on the media, since I don’t know you
personally. If you didn’t say it, Tonto, I am very sorry. I will publicly apologise. Yet, I believe you did, because you do so many things after marijuana. If it’s not good for your brain, stop smoking. Listen to Adele’s Someone Like You and you will feel good.

I don’t look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Onyeka Nwelue

Woman Jumps Off Moving Train To Escape Molesters In Bihar, India!

A woman is in critical condition after jumping off a speeding express train in order to escape a pair of molesters in Bihar, India.

According to the Times of India, the woman was leaving the restroom when she was accosted by a man who forcibly tried to enter the stall with her. After a short struggle, she lept from the train when it slowed down near Jagjiwan Halt, near Ara. She was taken to Sadar Hospital, where she is being treated for injuries to her head and legs, the Hindustan Times reports.

The alleged molester has been identified as Rakesh Kumar and was apprehended on the train by a fellow passenger. A second man, also an army soldier, is believed to have participated in the attempted assault. The International Business Times notes that he fled to another rail car during the chaos involving Kumar.

The victim, a woman in her thirties from Darjeeling, was traveling New Jalpaiguri to Delhi when the incident occurred. According to the Times of India, she is the mother of 13-year-old twins.

India's railways are notorious for their overcrowding and prevalence of sexual assault. Back in July, a 19-year-old woman was thrown from a running train as she tried to escape four attackers, NBS news reported.

Thursday's incident occurred on the same day that India's top law enforcement official called for a crackdown on crimes against women. The country is currently in a state of unrest as protests rage in light of the tragic gang-rape and murder of a 23-year-old woman from New Delhi.
